why me ?

WHY ME ?

OH WHY ME ?

WHY DID IT HAPPEN TO ME ?

IT WASN’T WHAT I EXPECTED, IT WASNT WHAT THEY EXPECTED EITHER,

MIND YOU WITH GOOD MENTAL HEALTH NOW I CAN SAY IN A STRANGE WAY I AM GLAD IT HAPPENED TO ME

WITHOUT THE DARK I WOULD NOT ADORE THE LIGHT

WITHOUT THE PAIN I WOULD NOT ENJOY THE PEACE

WITHOUT THE RAIN I WOULD NOT LOVE THE SUN

GUESS IN A WAY IT WAS ME , IS ME ,WILL ALWAYS BE ME.

I don’t know why I’d never seen it before

I dont know why
I’d never seen it before
As the morning sunlight
crept under the door

I watched as it shimmered
and danced in the room
flooding the spaces
erasing the gloom

the light was enchanting
its embrace was so warm
tingling my spine
like a magnetic storm

holding me tighly
in mystical bliss
warming my cheeks
with a dazzling kiss

I sat and I watched
as the golden delight
painted the walls
in a magical light

Until it had filled
every space it could find
my body my soul
my heart in combined

I dont know why
I’d never seen it before
As the morning sunlight
crept under the door

Happy to be me

I’d have the strength to say hello
to smile at passers by
No need to hang my head in woe
No need to feel so shy

Id have the energy to dance
I’d laugh and sing all day
And if I caught you watching me
I’d do it anyway

I’d visit all my family
Invite them round for tea
And that dragging feeling
It won’t come and bother me

My children would be happy
as we run around the place
and they wouldnt have to see
the sadness on my face

I’d like to do the simplest task
Like chatting with a friend
someone who will lend an ear
and also comprehend

But most off all the thing i’d do
Is feel alive and free
and i’d tell myself each day
I’m happy to be me.

Senses

With good mental health i have my senses awoken

My eyes can see the beauty around me

The sun, the moon and the stars

The snow, the fog and the rain

I can see my journey through life.

My ears can hear the beauty around me

The tweet of a bird, the bark of a dog

The happy singing of childrens voices

I can hear my journey through life

My nose can smell the beauty around me

The sweet smell of flowers and newly mown grass

The smell of fresh bread straight from the oven

I can smell my journey through life

My mouth can taste the beauty around me

The taste of sugar, spice and things that are nice

The taste of white chocolate all molten and warm

I can taste my journey through life

My skin can feel the beauty around me

The touch of  ‘My Ruby’ and the kisses she gives me

The hug from a friend just saying ‘Hello’

I can feel my journey through life

With good mental health my senses are awoken

Bus pass

The bus pass provided me with freedom
The bus pass provided me with adventure
The bus pass provided me with space, an outing
Enabled me to visit village to village
Allowed me to explore
The world that lay beyond my front door
I caught any bus I could
Arrived at destination unknown
Enjoyed the day trip
Arriving always at home

Songs of Joy

I have songs of joy as our..

Faith is stirred, but not shaken
I take a leap into tomorrow
My tired back, is not broken
And I don’t regret life’s sorrow
I’m happy that I have peace
I can ponder, and chase dreams
I have my smile; it’s a release
I see tranquility in a stream,

I can climb a frozen mountain
And soar higher than a bird,
Joy is my youthful fountain
And true love is preferred
I have inspiration, I believe,
My God turns water into wine
Passion is the work, I conceive
I have the word of the divine

I can rest and not despair
I know with glee, there is hope,
And with every day I say a prayer
And with them I can cope,
I have pride in my appearance
I have so much more to learn!
Friends are life’s deliverance,
And I greet them at each turn,

Bus Journey – BOOK SELECTION

I waited for the bus
I shaked when it approached
Thoughts raced inside my head say
“I can do this”
The bus stopped
I breathed in
Got on, flashed my bus pass
No exchange of words
Sat on the nearest available seat
Breathed in again
Glanced out of the window
Recognised the bus journey landmarks
As the bus passed
After five stops
I pressed the bell
The bus stopped
I got up
Wanted to say “Thank you”
But couldn’t get the words out
I breathed in
First bus journey
In five years
I smiled
