<\/strong>ABOUT THE ARTIST
<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Lydia Towsey is the chair of the rethinkyourmind poetry assesor panel. She is a poet and performer with a Masters in Creative Writing.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Her previous commissions include: Poet in the City\u2019s, Spoken Word All Stars Tour; Beyond Words \u2014  U.K. tour of four South African poets (Apples and Snakes) and Sole2Soul (University of Leicester.)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2012 she was shortlisted for the Bridport Poetry Prize. In 2013 she performed at London\u2019s 100 Club and was featured by The London Magazine.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2014 she UK toured \u2018Three the Hard Way\u2019<\/em> alongside Jean Binta Breeze and Alison Dunne.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She is forthcoming in Bloodaxe Books\u2019, Raving Beauties anthology & Candlestick Press<\/em>\u2019  \u201810 Poems about Knitting\u2019<\/em>. Her full length collection, \u2018The Venus Papers\u2019<\/em> will be published by Burning Eye Books in 2015.<\/p>\n

Lydia is Arts in Health Coordinator at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust; Chair\/Compere of WORD! – the longest running poetry night in the Midlands (www.wordpoetry.eu<\/a>) and Chair of Brightsparks (www.brightsparks.wordpress.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n
