Freedom is ours – BOOK SELECTION

With good mental health, agility and stealth
I feel the richest of the rich with emotional wealth.
The daily white noise turns to ambient symphonies,
Of delicate notes that harmoniously appease.
No longer required is careful selection of when to look at my reflection,
I’m content with myself and dispel ‘perfection’.
The darkness is lit, set ablaze and with it burns the sense of malaise,
The world has opened as illness leaves its last kiss,
Life now extending a hand, never again a fist.
Freedom is ours.

Lift Your Voice – SINGLE B SIDE POEM – RUBIE COLT

  Lift your voice

            and sing out loud

                  as you perform on

                           the stage of life

for you’ll get through the rain

                   just hold that note

                            and don’t be afraid

                                   for you’re a rock star

                                       the world is waiting

                                                for you

  with good

       mental health you can sing

                  you’re in harmony with

                                your friends they’ll see

                                       the change in you

                                           human nature is a

                                     chorus of love

                          it awaits you

        with a new song you

                  are awakened

                          the crowd

                               they clap their hands

                                    your dulcet tones

                                           restore your inner light

yesterday you were at the bottom

of the charts but now you’re

                                                      flying high

                     you’ve done it your way

and you’re the one and only

                     with fresh lyrics

                              inside your head you’re

                                         feeling back on track

and all you have to do

                                                              is sing.

The Wren – BOOK SELECTION

The morning started much the same, it seemed that nothing really changed
…..and then I saw the tiny Wren.
I hadn’t seen a Wren before. I knew they were the smallest bird?  Had I read it or perhaps just heard.
It hopped between some rocks with skill so great…I found I was compelled to wait until it safely reappeared…..slightly ruffled but not dogeared.
My problems faded….my thoughts refreshed…..became enthralled….who would have guessed that tiny feathered work of art would find a place inside my heart.
It seemed as if a veil were lifted….had I been shown that I was gifted …..to see the World in all its glory and be part of this wondrous story.
The Wren had flown…to brighten up another home? unaware of the joy it brought….
and then I had another thought ……tomorrow a Sparrow or a Starling or my tiny feathered darling.
If they are busy i’ll understand….I have the trees, the flowers and……
the Sun,the sky not always blue but clouds can also change in hue.
Then there is the welcome rain to gently feed the Earth again.
My heart now lifts as each day dawns and sleepily between my yawns…..
I pick up paper and my pen….
                                        to write a thank you…
                                                                    My little Wren.

This World – SINGLE LYRICS – REFUGE

This world that we share

Is full of wondrous things

And each day is gift

Enjoy the chances it brings.

Dwelling on the bad

Is an unhealthy way to go

As we might miss the good

So many joys we won’t know.

Appreciate the scent

Of a dew covered flower

Or share your friendship

In someone’s most needing hour;

Listen to the music

Of an exultant bird

Or get lost in the wonder

Of the written word.

Learn to enjoy the simple things

For they are all around

And when we can see the positive

Happiness will always be found.
